To identify if a CEV client, please follow the steps below. Clients may also arrive with a letter of attestation that needs to be reviewed.
1. If a client presents with an attestation letter confirming eligibility for dose 3, please proceed to Step 3.
2. If a client presents without an attestation letter, ask to review and confirm their ImmsBC invitation notification is valid (examples below).
Valid Message Examples:
MESSAGE 1
Patient group: have had two doses
|
You are invited to receive a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine. You are receiving this message because research shows that certain conditions and/or medications mean that two doses may not be sufficient for you to develop the same immune response as the rest of the population. Your name is in the provincial Get Vaccinated system so that you can receive a third dose at least four weeks after you receive your second dose. You can walk into any vaccine clinic in the province to have this third dose once you are eligible. After October 6, you will also receive an invite to book an appointment for your third dose once you are eligible. Watch Dr Henry’s message here. Learn more here: gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated |
MESSAGE 2
Patient group: have had one dose
|
You are receiving this message because research shows that certain conditions and/or medications mean that two doses may not be sufficient for you to develop the same immune response as the rest of the population. Your record shows you have not yet had your second dose. Please book your second dose now and plan to book your third dose at least four weeks later. If you have received your second dose already, please update your record at immunizationrecord.gov.bc.ca. Watch Dr Henry’s message here. Learn more here: gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated |
MESSAGE 3
Patient group: no doses and are registered
|
You are receiving this message to encourage you to book and receive your COVID-19 vaccination. Your condition and/or medications show that you are vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19 and a complete vaccine series is important protection. Please consider starting your vaccine series very soon. If you have already received your first or second dose, please update your records at immunizationrecord.gov.bc.ca. Learn more here: gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated |
3. Using the global search bar, search for the client using PHN, or first and last name.
4. Once you’ve located the correct client, open their profile (Person Account) and navigate to the Details tab.
5. Locate the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) field.
Note: If a client has an attestation letter and the CEV flag indicates No, please consult with your clinic lead for further direction before editing the status.
Determining Dose 3 Timing
Clients who have been identified by the province as CEV 1 should be forecasted for a third dose depending on their immunization history and minimum intervals.
Other clients may not have a dose 3 forecast despite meeting eligibility requirements. Their forecast will be blank, and manual planning according to BCCDC standards will need to be done.
For these clients, please review their Immunization History.
Once clients have been assessed to be eligible, they can be checked in using the Walk-In Workflow.
