The After-Care chevron is the last step in the vaccination workflow. Users will only need to document in the After-Care section if medical interventions and/or patient counselling were provided after the immunization.
By clicking Confirm & Save Administration on the Vaccine Administration page, the record will move into After-Care. The record will automatically move into Complete status after 45-60 minutes, and the information will be sent to the Provincial Immunization Registry.
How to access the Medical Intervention form (same-day client)
1. From Today's Appointments, search for the client by PHN or name.
(Today's Appointments can be accessed from the bottom of the Home page, or through Client List)
2. Select View to re-open the client's record in In-Clinic Experience.
3. If the client has already received their immunization, the Identification chevron and the Vaccine Administration chevron will be green. The After-Care chevron will appear in blue.
4. Click on the Edit (pencil) icon beside Medical intervention
5. Complete the following fields.
- Medical Intervention Provider (User)
- Intervention Necessary: use the dropdown menu to select --None-- or Yes
- Intervention Note: free-text box for detailed comments
6. Select Save. The Date and Time of the Note will be automatically captured upon saving.
7. Click Return to Search (bottom-right corner) to bring you back to the Home page.
8. Continue with VCH AEFI Reporting Guidelines procedures as required.
How to view Notes on previous Medical Interventions
Medical Intervention Notes are saved alongside the client's other Notes.
Navigate to the client's Person Account > Related > ImmsBC Notes.
Notes can be expanded by clicking on the Note ID (in the first column)
Tips
- Multiple (sequential) notes can be authored for the same clinical encounter.
- Notes can only be edited by their original author, or a user with ImmsBC admin privileges.
