Users who are back-entering vaccine doses through CIR (Create Immunization Record) may come across the following error message:
"Effective From Date cannot be in the future and cannot overlap with the Effective to Date of an existing Consent record for the same agent."
Why does this happen?
- The system takes the blank "effective to" date to mean a calendar day in the future.
- The client already received a subsequent dose of the same antigen/agent (e.g. in Oct 2024), and that newer record has its own consent (effective from Oct 2024).
- The blank date (future day) is chronologically later than Oct 2024, creating a conflict.
How do I get around this?
- In the "effective from" field, select the date of administration for the dose.
- In the "effective to" field, select the date of administration for the dose.
Key point - do not leave the "effective to" field blank!!
- A blank value is considered a "future" value!!
- The system will accept any end-date as long as it is before the date of the most recent vaccination (newest consent).
